Have you put real effort into eating well and staying active, only to find your tummy won’t follow? Pregnancy and weight loss can stretch skin and part the muscles in ways no workout can reach, and we understand how disheartening that is. A tummy tuck removes the loose skin and repairs the muscle wall beneath it, leaving you with a flatter, firmer shape and clothes that fit again.

Individual results vary. These images show actual patients treated by Dr Qadir Khan and are provided for informational purposes only. Outcomes depend on individual anatomy, health and other factors. Abdominoplasty is major surgery and carries risks. A consultation is required to determine whether the procedure is appropriate for you.
Typical ranges. Your own plan is confirmed at consultation.
A tummy tuck is designed for changes that diet and exercise cannot undo. Tap anything that sounds familiar.
Most people who choose a tummy tuck recognise at least two of these.
Talk to Dr KhanAbdominoplasty works on two layers at once. It repairs the muscle wall that holds your stomach in, then removes the stretched skin and fat sitting over it.
Made from hip to hip, low enough to sit beneath most underwear and swimwear.
The separated rectus muscles are stitched back together, tightening your core like an internal corset.
Loose skin is lifted, the excess is removed and liposuction can refine the waist and flanks.
Your own navel is brought through the tightened skin in a natural position, and the wound is closed in layers.
Dr Khan holds FRACS (Plast) and performs your entire operation himself. You meet him at every consultation.
Fellowships in microsurgery and complex reconstruction in Australia and the UK inform how he handles tissue and scars.
Every tummy tuck is performed in an accredited Perth hospital with a specialist anaesthetist.
Two consultations, clear pricing and realistic expectations. If surgery is not right for you yet, we will say so.
A dedicated nurse, scheduled reviews and a direct line to the team for as long as your recovery needs.

From first call to final review, here is what to expect.

Call or send the form. Our team explains the process and asks your GP for a referral.

Dr Khan examines your abdomen, measures any muscle gap and talks through your goals and options.

You review your written plan and quote, ask anything else, and take at least seven days to decide.

Your operation takes place under general anaesthetic in an accredited hospital, followed by one to three nights of care.

Rest, short walks and a compression garment. Our nurse checks your wounds within the first fortnight.

Follow-up visits at 6 weeks, 3 months and 12 months while your shape settles and your scar fades.
No two abdomens are the same. Dr Khan recommends the approach that treats your concern with the shortest scar possible.
The most common tummy tuck. It treats the whole abdomen above and below the navel, repairs the muscle wall and removes loose skin through a low hip-to-hip scar. Your belly button is kept and repositioned.

08 6230 3041Abdominoplasty is a well-established operation when performed by a Specialist Plastic Surgeon in an accredited hospital. Like all surgery it carries risks, which Dr Khan explains in detail. Careful assessment, stopping smoking and following your aftercare plan all lower your risk.
Most people describe tightness and soreness rather than sharp pain, especially after muscle repair. It is strongest in the first few days and is controlled with prescribed medication. Walking slightly bent forward for the first week or so is normal.
Most patients return to desk work after 2 to 3 weeks. Jobs involving lifting or physical effort usually need 6 weeks. Driving is generally possible once you can brake suddenly without discomfort, often around 2 to 3 weeks.
Yes. Every tummy tuck leaves a scar, placed low so it can be hidden by most underwear and swimwear. It is pink at first and gradually softens and fades over 12 to 18 months. Scar care advice is part of your aftercare.
Yes. Fat is removed along with the excess skin, and liposuction is often added to refine the waist and flanks. A tummy tuck is not a weight loss operation, though. It works best when you are already close to your goal weight.
You can, but pregnancy will stretch the skin and muscles again and may undo much of the result. Most women are advised to wait until they have finished having children.
A Medicare item number may apply when there is a documented medical need, for example significant muscle separation after pregnancy with symptoms, or excess skin after major weight loss causing recurrent rashes. If an item number applies, your private health fund may contribute to hospital costs. We will check your eligibility at consultation.
The muscle repair and skin removal are long lasting. Your result is best protected by keeping a stable weight and healthy lifestyle. Ageing, pregnancy and weight changes can still affect your shape over time.
Every operation carries risk, and you deserve a clear picture before you decide. Dr Khan discusses each of these with you, explains how likely they are for you personally, and how we work to prevent them.
Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
Tell us a little about yourself and our team will call you within one business day to arrange a time with Dr Khan.
